The Old and New Basilica de Guadalupe

The bright colors of the Old and New Basilica de la Virgen de Guadalupe stand out against the clear blue sky early on a Sunday morning. The Basilica, located at the Cerro del Tepeyac in the north of Mexico City,  is the second most visited Catholic shrine in the world, after the Vatican. Millions of devoted Catholics make a pilgrimage here to venerate Our Lady of Guadalupe, especially at the beginning of December when the feast day of La Virgen is celebrated.
