Mexico’s little Switzerland


With its wooden balconies, pots of geraniums and fresh mountain air, Mazamitla, in the state of Jalisco, has acquired the nickname of “Mexico’s Little Switzerland.” It nestles in the rolling hills of the beautiful pine-clad Sierra del Tigre and has plenty of outdoor activities for those looking to escape the big cities. Cozy log fires heat the houses in winter but in summer this area is a cool haven of tranquility. Mazamitla is a designated “Pueblo Mágico” with the charming character of a small mountain town.
