Painting on amate paper

Roberto Martinez, an artist from Xalitla in Guerrero, paints intricate designs on amate paper (made using bark). It can take him up to one month to finish a large painting. The paintings are done in his village and he comes regularly to sell them at the Bazar del Sábado in San Angel, Mexico City. His son and grandson are continuing the family tradition with their own designs.
